The Seven Deadly Sins

Hello and welcome to my den of sin....muahahaha. In The Seven Deadly Sins Newspaper Project we were tasked with creating original content that embodies our ideas of what the Seven Deadly Sins represent. In my booklet, I went for a New Orleans gumbo of sins. A dash of voodoo, a helping of tarot cards, a little sprinkling of poison and a whole lot of alcohol. The sins to me are about a loss of personal accountability and of control. The typeface used in the booklet was Whitney and the physical newspaper was digitally produced by the newspaper club in Scotland.

Layout:
Lust: Analogue collage
Gluttony: Typographical Solution
Greed: Photoshoot with models
Sloth: Photograph with model and duotone
Wrath: Photograph
Envy: Found Photo or manipulated photograph with text
Pride: Constructed Photo with handwritten text

Check out my dropmark for the inspiration.
The cover of The Seven Sins Project using models and manipulated in Photoshop. Really wanted a colorful, "the dark side likes to party" vibe.
The Lust page was an analogue collage that used printed photos and 3-D objects to create a scene that embodied the tantalizing danger of gambling addiction.
Greed was a photoshoot incorporating models, costumes, and props. In this scene, a fortune teller becomes obsessed with the literal fortune of a woman who had come to get her cards read.
The Pride Spread was a photoshoot that also incorporates the word "pride" physically written in the scene. In my Pride spread it shows the model becoming increasingly obsessed with herself to the point that she sells her soul to the Photobooth so that she can take selfies of  herself for eternity.
Please enjoy the flipsnack of the completed booklet.
